For Your First Ride With Us
- We strongly recommend that you come on a Saturday, as it is very likely that all pace groups will be present;
- Read and understand our safety guidelines;
- Check out our riding page for routes, times, locations, etc.;
- Make sure to bring items that we require to ride with us (see above);
- Arrive 15 minutes before ride start time;
- If you rode by yourself before, know your typical distance and average speed so you can select an appropriate pace group;
- Locate your group according to the chart you saw on our Riding page. You could also meet with the announcer, explain you're new to the Club and you're looking to ride with certain group;
- Once you found your group, don't be shy, introduce yourself, describe what riding experience you have and make sure the group leader is aware that you are new, so they may provide appropriate guidance if needed;
- Be aware that faster pace groups, such as 21+ and warps, may not have single group leader, as decisions are made collectively by experienced riders. Faster pace groups assume that you have sufficient riding experience and knowledge how to find your way home if you get dropped;
- Always remember: when participating in a group ride every cyclist takes responsibility for group safety;
- Be open to advise by group leader or other cyclists. They are only trying to help you with your cycling or safety skills, we encourage "see something — say something" principle on our rides.
